How To Use Meditation For Better Health!

Meditation and the Meditative Process

To most of us meditation is often a much misunderstood and unknown process! When we think of meditation don't we think of people sitting around in a deep trance or in deep thought in which they cannot be distracted?

Actually, meditation can be described as "a continued, unbroken, awareness of the mind in its basic state. It involves the overcoming of distraction and scattered energies into a peaceful awareness."

If you ever tried real meditation it is a delightful process that gives you the ability to experience a very calm state. It shows a way to live life, to the fullest, by using methods of peaceful awareness.

When we meditate we begin to realize and experience a beautiful inner space as we undo ourselves from the outside world and go deep into ourselves. People get detached from their ego and their emotional bondage to experience this peaceful awareness.

As soon as they come out of the meditation process they return to their real personalities. The personalities are accompanied by their learned patterns of behavior and their thoughts of who they are and what they can or cannot do.

In order to make meditation successful we must try to relate our meditative state and our daily conscious state. At all times we should be aware of our "higher state of mind."

Meditation helps us do that by developing a type or form of mind management. It helps us overcome our various desires and distractions.

Meditation DOES NOT reduce our desires, because they will always be there! BUT, meditation makes them unimportant and allows us to pull back from these endless desires.

Holding on to the memory of the meditative process makes it easier to pull yourself back from these endless desires. The more this is done the easier it becomes!

While we are meditating we become detached and actually enjoying the moment in a deep, relaxed, restful moment. When we finish, however, we lose the moment and return to our distracted state.

By developing a meditative lifestyle we are able to observe and understand why we move back and forth between the calm meditative state and our daily state of mind. We then understand what forms of our lifestyle upset our calm, peaceful state.

Meditation also has a great deal of health benefits. You can discover the 'hidden' power within you! You can increase attention, improve focus, improve concentration and perception, reduce stress, and achieve a calm and peaceful state.
